On December 31, 2024, the CNIPA issued the Guide of AI-Related Invention Patent Application (Trial) illustrating common types of patent applications related to artificial intelligence and relevant legal questions, the determination of inventor’s identification, standards of solution objects, full publication of Description, consideration of inventiveness, and ethical issues in AI-related patent applications. The Guide aims to explain examination policies of AI-related patent applications under the framework of China’s current patent legal system comprehensively and in depth and respond to hot legal questions commonly concerned by innovation subjects to improve the quality of patent applications and promote the development of new quality productive forces.
